Okay I had been hearing Rhonda talk about her “Hairapy” for quite a few years. “Joan,” she said, “you’ve got to start going to Hylton-Hundt Salon. Bonnie not only makes me look beautiful, she clears my mind and nourishes my soul! You need it…make the switch!”
Ok ….Ok… so 7 years ago I made the switch. Now not only does my hair color look fantastic (as long as I go every 4 weeks!), I’ve also made an incredible friend in Bonnie. It’s not just going in to get your hair cut and colored by one of the best hair stylists and colorists in the area…it’s going into a salon where you’re taken away from the world for an hour (or two, for me) to a peaceful surrounding, with intelligent talk, good humor and, of course, that half-hour opportunity to read People Magazine! It truly is the most authentic salon experience you could choose, and to find it so close by in Millerton, New York, is awesome!
Last week when I was at the salon, Bonnie and I started talking about our shared belief in making an effort to promote organic, eco-friendly products in our businesses. The salon already uses and sells Pureology hair products (which are totally and proudly “vegan”) but Bonnie showed me a new line of products they’ve started carrying: EO Essentials.
EO is a certified organic manufacturer, family-owned and envirnomentally responsible. The company’s stated mission is to manufacture “the most incredibly smelling, natural and sustainable personal care products you can buy”. I can tell you…it IS incredibly smelling!! The Lemon-Verbena Body Lotion is wonderful and the Organic Lavender Hand Sanitizer is in my bag now.
