Don’t Miss the Sorman/Kirk Exhibit at The Moviehouse Studio Gallery

There was an impressive turnout last weekend for photographer Malcolm Kirk’s and multimedia artist Steven Sorman’s exhibit at the Moviehouse Studio Gallery.   Unfortunately, I was unable to attend as I was still busy dealing with the aftermath of the now-infamous ice storm.

I do wish I could have been there as I am a big fan (and collector) of Steve’s and Malcolm’s work.  And, as you all know, the Northeast Dutchess and Columbia County Funds of the Berkshire Taconic Foundation are funds that Hammertown contributes substantially to, so with 50% of sales from the exhibit benefiting those funds, I am doubly excited about this show.

Steve’s work appears in the most prestigious galleries around the world.  He is known for his visually complex painting and as a master printmaker respected by other artists and collectors alike.

Malcolm’s photographs are equally impressive.  His most recent collection of work, “Silent Spaces: The Last of the Great Aisled Barns,” is the culmination of years of photographing European barns. His work, too, hangs in major museums throughout the world.

To have two artists of this caliber exhibiting their work at this small local gallery is unusual and an incredible opportunity not to be missed!

The Sorman/Kirk Exhibit will be at the Moviehouse Studio Gallery from now until January 29th…do not miss it!

The Moviehouse is located at 48 Main Street in Millerton, NY.  More information is available on its website, www.themoviehouse.net or by calling 860-435-2897.
