I drove down to Garrison, NY this past week to visit my granddaughters. The girls were so excited to show me their newly re-decorated playhouse.
It must be genetic! They love to play house, love to decorate, and love to “nest”.
Spring had arrived and over the weekend they did a massive spring cleaning. I immediately thought this would make a cute blog (I guess I am pretty obsessed with this blogging) and I gave Lillie my i-Phone to start taking pictures, while I took notes on what they had done.
Sadly, we do not have before pictures. There’s always next year!
Here are Lillie’s tips for PlayHouse Spring Cleaning and Renewal
- Remove all the stuff out of the house. Sweep clean with a broom.

Vacuum rugs (Lillie and Olive are very fortunate… they get the sample Dash and Albert rugs for their playhouse that Gaga had in the store). Lillie had to borrow her neighbor’s long extension cord to use with the vacuum.
- Plant pansies in window boxes
- Windex windows
- Put new spring pillows in loft (Old and faded Thomas Paul and Pine Cone Hill pillows…another perk to being a Hammertown relative)
- Paint new pictures for the wall
- Clean the kitchen
