Old-Fashioned Barn Raising at Glynwood Farms this Saturday

Help put the finishing touches on Glynwood Farm’s new barn on Saturday, June 6th.

Bring your hammer.  Bring the kids.  If you know how to pound a nail or saw a board, they’ll put you to work.   If you’re not comfortable with tools and labor, you can watch the kids participate in other fun like building scarecrows, making ice cream, and meeting the baby animals.

Glynwood Farm, in Cold Spring, NY, is not only a working farm but a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting farming and conserving farmland by practicing what they preach…they use agricultural techniques that are responsible and sustainable and they teach other farmers and landowners how to do the same and how to take advantage of new and emerging markets.

Glynwood Farm offers tours throughout the summer to educate adults and children on the importance of preserving our local farms and farmland.

Over the next few weeks we’ll be featuring a number of different organizations, farms and individuals who are dedicated to spreading the word of the importance of preserving and supporting local farms and farmers.  Remember –  NO FARMS…NO FOOD!

This Barn Raising is a wonderful way to spend the day…it’s also a great way to show your support for an important cause.
