Hammertown has been carrying Simon Pearce glassware for over 17 years. We were the first store in the area to carry his glassware, and at a time when he was not very well known around here.
I was immediately attracted to this beautiful handmade glassware…so simple, functional and elegant, and made in America…in Simon’s own glassblowing studio in Vermont.
For all the years I have done business with Simon Pearce, I have dealt with the same people in their office…Sandy and Cora. Always a friendly voice, always helpful and giving the best customer service a client could ask for. I respect his company not only for their beautiful wares, but for the responsible manner in which they run their company and the respectful nature their employees handle themselves.
Simon’s son, Kevin Pearce, a wonderful young man and a world class snowboarder in the half-pipe, was training for the Olympics when he was critically injured on New Year’s Eve…just weeks before the Olympics were to start. His family and his doctors are optimistic for a full recovery but it will take time.
With Hammertown’s long time relationship with the family business, we feel a connection to Kevin and his family. We’re sending our prayers and thoughts to the entire family during this difficult time.
Click here for an update from Tom Brokaw on Kevin’s condition. It’s a wonderful piece about a wonderful family.
