“A Way of Living” by Pia & Simon Pearce

I just love this new book by glassmaker, Simon Pearce and his wife, Pia.  It speaks to me on so many levels and inspires me, too.  The book’s co-author, Glenn Suokko, says it beautifully:

“Making glass is central to Simon Pearce, but Pia and Simon’s perceptive interest in creating a fulfilling way of living, and the importance of their home and table to them and their families, show us the important connection between their interests and the products they have inspired.”

Having a glimpse into this family-oriented couple’s life is a real treat.  In “A Way of Living”, Pia and Simon Pearce share their family centered beliefs of living simply, cooking great food, and enjoying beautiful, functional objects every day. It provides the reader and collectors of Simon Pearce glass and pottery with insight into their inspirations and the personal significance of their home, table, and style of cooking in creating a fulfilling way of living.  180 pages containing 27 favorite recipes from the Simon Pearce restaurants and 180 lush color photographs of the Pearce’s home, gardens, workshops, restaurants, food, and their glass and pottery.

We’re featuring one of the recipes from their book in this week’s recipe of the week, Sesame Chicken with Spicy Dipping Sauce
