This Week’s Pick: Breville Juicer with the “Big Book of Juices”

This week’s pick is a Staff Pick.  We got this new Breville Juicer a few weeks ago.  We  always like to try any new appliance we sell so we can tell our customers how to use them and what we like about them.  Crystal, at the Barn, was really interested in this new product so I asked her to give it a try.  Well, she fell in love with it and so did all of the lucky Barn employees…the juices she made were absolutely delicious!!  So, then I asked Crystal to tell you all about her favorite new Hammertown product here on our blog.  Look for more Staff Picks as new items arrive in our stores!  — Joan

WHY I LOVE THE BREVILLE JUICER by Crystal Vossler

I recently decided to cut most processed, packaged, and prepared foods out of my diet to live a healthier lifestyle.  I learned that Juicing is a great (and tasty) way to get all the nutrients I need in a delicious way.

  • Real, fresh, raw juice is very good for you (rapidly absorbed into blood stream for a quick burst of nutrients).  The juicer releases more nutrients than just chewing and swallowing.  Store-bought juice pales in comparison to fresh juice (packaging issues in terms of environmental impact); they have nasty ingredients like sweeteners, artificial stuff, preservatives, etc.
  • The Breville Juicer is top of the line. Stylish stainless steel design, LCD indicator, Heavy-duty but really quiet 900 watt motor (boy it just purrs!), variable speed controls (“unique 5 speed smart juicing system”).  It’s easy to assemble and easy to use.
  • Little preparation for fruits and veggies. (“3″ circular feed tube processes whole fruit”)  Most can be processed whole through the juicer.   Easy to create great-tasting juice.  You can invent your own combinations.  Today I made juice using carrots, apples, celery, an orange, and lemon juice.  Joan LOVED it!!  We first just tried it with carrots and apples.  You can adjust it to your own taste (whether you like it to be more sweet or savory).  There are recipes for different things such as energy boosts, liquid lunches, vitamin boosts, breakfast, and spirited juices.
  • A breeze to clean. There are 5 main parts to clean (some are dishwasher safe). Collected pulp can be composted (environmentally friendly, good for the garden) or used in suggested recipes.   Includes a custom cleaning brush that makes cleaning a snap.
  • The Big Book of Juices by Natalie Savona (“more than 400 natural blends for health and vitality every day”).  This is an awesome book.  Read this book and you’ll learn what juicing can do for you-boost your immunity, rejuvenate your energy levels, and improve your health in general.
