Welcome to Hammertown’s Cooking Classes!

Hammertown’s mission with these classes is to bring together all the local ingredients our part of the Hudson Valley has been blessed with: wonderful chefs, local personalities, fresh produce, kitchen wisdom and a beautiful place to learn about food and cooking and have fun doing it.

Our Spring Classes have been sold out.  We are now scheduling new summer classes (see below).  Here’s how to make a reservation–remember class sizes are limited so early registration is encouraged:

Contact  joan@hammertown.com or call 518 398 7075 and ask for Michele to register for a class or discuss a private event.  To reserve a class spot, we must have your credit card information.  Classes will not be charged out until we reach needed class size. You will be notified if the class is canceled 5 days prior to the class date.

Cancellations require ONE WEEK’S NOTICE and will be credited towards another class, can be transferred to a friend or will receive a store credit.  Otherwise, there are NO REFUNDS.

HAMMERTOWN’S SUMMER COOKING CLASSES
AT THE GATEHOUSE

In addition to training under such celebrated New York chefs as Rocco Di Spirito, David Bouley and Daniel Boulud, Job was the chef/owner of Icehouse and Bittersweet restaurants, both located on Martha’s Vineyard. Both restaurants, along with Job’s style of contemporary, seasonal cuisine, have been featured in Gourmet, Food and Wine, House & Garden and Bon Appétit. In 2006, Bittersweet was named best restaurant on Martha’s Vineyard by Boston Magazine. In 2007, Job joined longtime friend Dorcas Sommerhoff as chef at The Farmer’s Wife in Ancramdale, NY.

After her sold out Thai Cooking Class, America Gonzalez returns to Hammertown with 2 summer classes. America trained with three top New York City Chefs, Daniel Boulud, Charlie Palmer and Daniel Orr, after graduating from the ICE (Institute of Culinary Education) Culinary School in New York. She has professionally catered and is currently running a cooking school in Westchester County. More about our classes -
Anyone who loves food will enjoy Hammertown Cooking Classes.  Whether you’re a skilled cook or a novice, a dedicated “foodie” or someone who just loves to eat and meet new people from the area.  In each class you’ll  learn how to make a dish and then enjoy the meal you’ve helped prepare with your “classmates”.   This will be the most fun you’ve ever had in a “class”.  There’s no pressure…no tests…just cooking for the sheer enjoyment of it all and you’ll still be learning something useful that you can take home with you to your own kitchen.

Each participant will also get a Cooking with Hammertown Store Coupon (good for one day) entitling them to:

  • Storewide discount of 10%
  • 15% off all kitchenware and cookbooks
  • 30% off all LeCrueset cookware.

In addition to our classes which are open to the public, you can also contact me about the following:

  • Build your own group and we’ll do a class for you. Private classes for groups of 10 to 15
  • Private catered parties at the Gatehouse with a private chef.
  • Rent the Gatehouse for special events: bridal showers, baby showers, birthday parties, etc.
