Opening Reception
Saturday – June 19, 2010
5:00 – 7:00 pm
Hammertown Rhinebeck Gallery
Montgomery Row in Rhinebeck

Carrie Haddad Gallery in Hudson NY is hailed as one of the premier galleries of the Hudson Valley.  They are known for showing the best established and newly discovered artists of the Hudson Valley.  Hammertown is thrilled to be partnering with Carrie Haddad and to be featuring some of their represented artists from the Hudson Valley region.

Thanks to our mutual friend, Virginia Strull, we have joined forces to present this show.  Carrie loved our gallery space and the way we present our selected furniture and antiques and likewise, we respect and love the artwork she represents.  We are very excited to present this collaboration.

I hope you will join us on Saturday, June 19th.

Swag, 60 x 78 oil on canvas by Kathy Burge

These are viscerally energized works that suggest organisms and bodies of things that breathe and move but are perceptually indistinct from specific objects. In some cases, the titles encourage further investigation.  (Kathy Burge Art Review: Artful Mind)

2nd Wing by Allyson Levy, 24 x 24 wings encased in beeswax

Allyson Levy statement – By combining natural materials with wax, I to try to capture human interaction with nature.  I hope that my treatment of these organic materials with various techniques of encaustic painting will convey the feeling of particular moments of time and how they effect human emotions.

Still Life with Salami by David Halliday

We can’t gaze for longer than a few seconds at David Halliday’s photographs without realizing that they, in turn, perceive us. (Alfred Corn)

Sly Variation by David Seiler photo and mixed media on panel 16 x 14 inches

Bringing to mind the great English sporting paintings of George Stubbs and Benjamin Marshall, or even the romantic moodiness of Delacroix, David Seiler’s photographs show a fascination for the energy, force and personality behind the animal.

One Response to Carrie Haddad Gallery & Hammertown Rhinebeck join artistic forces with a new Exhibit

  1. Very nice work, especially “Sly Variation” and the Opening Reception announcement art.

Are you open for submissions? If so, what’s the process?

    Thanks,

    Marc Sacerdote
