In case you hadn’t noticed…I LOVE the cheeses from The Amazing Real Live Food Company. I serve it at every Hammertown After Hours event and in my own home and we’ve blogged about it here on our website.
Rory Chase and Peter Dessler are the men behind the cheese. Business partners and friends, they were both local kids that went away to college. Peter went to the Culinary Institute in Hyde Park and Rory went to Tufts in Boston. After college they left for the West Coast and lived there for several years. Peter worked in the high-end restaurant business in the Santa Barbara area and Rory immersed himself in learning about natural and organic foods, nutrition and marketing. Then, they made the decision to bring their combined experiences and knowledge back home with them to share it. (Something that just isn’t happening enough in rural areas these days.) The happy result is The Amazing Real Live Food Co.
We love these products so much that we’ve now decided (after a successful “trial run” during the holidays) to permanently carry Rory & Peter’s cheeses right here at Hammertown Barn. Look for the “Cheese Fridge” downstairs in the Barn with our other specialty foods.
