I have been a huge fan of Taryn & Tim Cocheo since they were at The Bottle Tree in Ancram, NY.
To their Ancram fans’ dismay, they announced in the fall of 2009 that they were closing The Bottle Tree but we soon learned they were headed to Millerton to take up residence in Simmon’s Way (across from The Movie House). Well, Ancram’s loss is Millerton’s gain — we’re just grateful they’re still close by.
Chef Tim Cocheo has an impressive background (La Caravelle and Wallse in NYC and Wheatleigh in Lenox, MA) and it shows – “He brings a haute cuisine mindset to country cooking” says Dan Shaw at Rural Intelligence. Taryn (Tim’s wife), is responsible for everything but the cooking…the warm and friendly ambiance of the restaurant as well as management and marketing. They’re a young, talented, energetic and knowledgeable couple that have already made a significant mark in the Hudson Valley dining scene. No. 9 is available for private parties and catering and starting in February, they’ll be featuring live music at the restaurant as well.
